Boca Grande is the "modern" upscale part of Cartagena.
It is located on a spit of land that projects from the mainland on the east side of the harbor and it faces onto both the harbor and the Caribbean.
It is filled with tourist hotels and upscale apartments and condos.
There are stark contrasts in the population.
